What is the difference between an Art Print and an Original?
An art print is a reproduction while an original is the actual painted artwork. All my original paintings are created using professional and archival quality paper and paint. All watercolour original paintings should be framed behind glass to protect them.
Purchasing an Original painting does not include transfer of copyright.
What is glicee art print in the store?
The prints I have listed as ‘Art Prints’ are professionally printed giclée prints that are made with archival pigment inks on textured watercolor paper. They look and feel very similar to original paintings, and cost more to produce than standard art prints.
What paper do you use for original watercolour/gouache paintings?
Paper: Primarily Arches Aquarelle 300gsm and 640 gsm watercolour paper. At other times I use Magnani 1404.
Paints: Primarily Winsor Newton Series 4 and Daniel Smith Extra Fine and occasionally Holbein and M. Graham & Co.
Brushes: Whatever works best for the project I am on. I currently have, among others, Winsor Newton, Fuumuui, Da Vinci, Princeton, Chinese calligraphy brushes, etc.
